crusades

What happened on September 11, 2001?

Terrorists from Afghanistan attacked the United States. They high jacked 3 airplanes and crashed into the twin towers and pentagon.

Why did bush’s use of the word crusades worry and outrage people?

They aren’t fighting against the Muslim. They are fighting against the terrorist that attacked them, not over religion.

Why is it a bad idea to compare the current war to the crusades?

It’s a bad idea because it worries people that the war is about religion differences.

Who were the groups of people fighting in the original crusades?
It was the Christian and the Muslims

Ancient Rome and the U.S

ANCIENT ROME AND THE U.S

Ancient Rome had several problems that cause their empire to fall. In ancient Rome, Rome is attacked from Romaic tribes. They also hired machineries or people that fight only for money. There inflation the value of the money goes down. Rome Empire grows too big to control. There is a large gap between the rich and the poor.
Ancient Rome and the USA are alike because the US was also attacked by terrorist USA also uses machineries to fight wars and inflation happens in the us too. The value of the dollar bill goes down and there is also a gap between rich and poor.
These problems can be seen in the USA today, USA owes a lot of money to a lot of countries, every time they print new money the value of the dollar goes down.
I don’t think that the USA will fall like the Roman Empire did, because I think that the USA is more advanced than the Roman Empire was.

They wanted to know how the universe is put together, how people can understand the logics and reasons of the universe.
The first philosopher was Socrates, Socrates encouraged his student to examine there beliefs. He believed that absolute standers did exist for truth and justice. He was later sent to trial because they believed that Socrates was corrupting young minds. The judge disagrees with Socrates beliefs and he was put to death. One of Socrates students Plato wrote a book called the republic. It included his vision of a perfectly governed society. He believed everybody should be separated into three groups (farmers, artist, and warriors).
Other philosophers that came after Plato was Aristotle. He questioned the nature of the world and human beliefs he invented a method of arranging according to the rules of logic and we still to this day use t his method (scientific method)

Athens V.S Sparta

Both Sparta and Athens are city states in Greece. Athens is concerned with art education and art. Sparta is more concerned in military services. Athens values individuals and Sparta values the whole group. In Athens there government is democracy. It’s ruled by people voting. Sparta worked in groups, they are all equal. Both of Athens and Sparta have several government branches. Which also held an assmembely where the citizens voted for major issues? Athens grew wealthy and powerful than other city states in Greece. The other city states began to notice and grew mad because they had power over all the other city states. Sparta declared war on Athens in 431 B.C. Peloponnesian war Athens had the stronger navy but Sparta had the strongest army. Spartans marched into Athens territory and swept over the country side. They continued to fight for several years. At the year 421 B.C. the two sides warn down by the was sign a truce but the peace didn’t last long. Sparta wins the war between the Athens and they loose there power, empire and wealth.
