Philosophers

As war went on many Athens lost confidence in that democratic governments and began r the was late question there values they were determined to seek truth no matter were the search led them they were soon to be called philosopher meaning lovers of wisdom. They wanted to know how the universe is put together, how people can understand the logics and reasons of the universe.
The first philosopher was Socrates, Socrates encouraged his student to examine there beliefs. He believed that absolute standers did exist for truth and justice. He was later sent to trial because they believed that Socrates was corrupting young minds. The judge disagrees with Socrates beliefs and he was put to death. One of Socrates students Plato wrote a book called the republic. It included his vision of a perfectly governed society. He believed everybody should be separated into three groups (farmers, artist, and warriors).
Other philosophers that came after Plato was Aristotle. He questioned the nature of the world and human beliefs he invented a method of arranging according to the rules of logic and we still to this day use t his method (scientific method)
